Can God say Wow?

As much as the opportunity permits, I find a way to tell my wife what she means to me. On our wedding anniversary or her birthday, I would get a blank card, reflect and put together words that I know will make her smile and melt her heart. I curate these words so she can go wow!

I think as Pastors, worship leaders and creative teams, we need to intentionally do things that point to the awesomeness of God. All assets and talents must come and work together for that good.

I know it’s possible for God to say wow! We can see examples in the scripture. I think wow was His response when Abraham obeyed to sacrifice Issac. Wow was Jesus’ response to the centurion. Scripture says he was amazed and He actually turned around on the spot. Wow was God’s response to Solomon for sacrificing 1000 cattle. Wow was God’s response to David when he told God of his plan to build him a house.

The Wow factor has nothing to do with costliness. It has to do with thoughtfulness. When the scriptures talk about not giving something that costs nothing, it’s not just about money. And here’s the thing - God can help you to get God to say wow! How do I mean? The Holy Spirit in you who is God has a desire to glorify the Father and the Son. If we ask, He will drop hints on what we can do that will bring God pleasure.

Holy Spirit help us to bring pleasure to the Father and the Son
